EffectCraft to After Effects
Open your EffectCraft projects in After Effects.
Drop an .ecproj. You get a .jsx script that rebuilds your comps, layers, keyframes, effects and text inside After Effects, and a list of anything that couldn't come across.

Footage the script looks for
This project uses image sequences. The script imports each one from its first frame: paste the folder first, or save the .jsx in the folder with the files.
The project remembers where each file was on the computer that saved it. Paste the folder that holds your footage on this computer and the script is written to look there first. It also looks next to itself, so you can instead save the .jsx in your footage folder. Mac: hold Option, right-click the folder, Copy as Pathname. Windows: Shift + right-click, Copy as path.
From .ecproj to After Effects
- 1
Drop the project
Your .ecproj, saved by EffectCraft 0.9.2 or later. Footage stays on your computer: only the project file is sent.
- 2
Read the report
Every layer shows how it converted. Whatever After Effects can't build from a script, such as an EffectCraft-only effect or a gradient, is listed by name.
- 3
Run the script
In After Effects choose File ▸ Scripts ▸ Run Script File…, pick the .jsx, then save with File ▸ Save. The result is an ordinary .aep, made by After Effects.
Made for After Effects 2023 and later. The script is tested against EffectCraft's own After Effects-compatible scripting, not against Adobe's: the Guide says what that leaves unchecked. Not affiliated with Adobe or the ArtCraft team. What converts
